26 New Audits-GAC to Release Audit Reports

The General Auditing Commission (GAC) has concluded a series of exit conferences with government institutions ahead of the release of 26 new audit reports expected in April 2026.

The exit conferences, which represent the final phase of the audit process, brought together auditors and senior officials from various ministries and agencies to review key findings, risks, and recommendations prior to publication. In total, approximately 26 audit reports are scheduled for release.

According to the GAC, most of the audits cover prior fiscal periods, with a structured plan underway to regularize the audit cycle across government institutions within the year.

“We take pride in personally facilitating the presentation of audit reports at these exit conferences to give senior management a practical understanding of the findings, risks, and recommendations,” the General Auditing Commission said. “These engagements also create a platform to expedite the implementation of audit recommendations and reinforce accountability at the institutional level.”

The Commission emphasized that the process is also intended to strengthen professional relationships with public institutions and encourage senior officials to take greater ownership of internal controls, compliance, and governance systems.

During the meetings, audit findings were presented through PowerPoint summaries supported by visual data, including charts and graphical representations, to simplify complex issues and improve clarity.

The GAC noted that this approach has enhanced discussions and made it easier for stakeholders to understand and track recommended actions.

“Our presence has significantly improved participation at the highest levels of management, and auditees have expressed appreciation for this innovation,” the Commission added.

The forthcoming reports are expected to provide insight into the financial management and operational performance of public institutions, as Liberia continues efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in the public sector.
