50-Year-Old Man Killed While Intervening in Domestic Dispute in Sayah Town, RiverCess

Rivercess County — Authorities in Sayah Town, Nyorwein District, are investigating the alleged killing of a 50-year-old man who was reportedly struck with a piece of firewood while trying to intervene in a domestic dispute.

The victim has been identified as Bobby Brown, a local resident who worked in the office of the Paramount Chief. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, according to Nyorwein District Commissioner Anthony Zweagar.

Speaking to Verity News, Commissioner Zweagar said the suspect, 30-year-old U-Jay Davis, had earlier returned from a gold mining trip and had gone to Yarpah Town to sell his gold. After the sale, Davis allegedly consumed substances believed to have altered his behavior.

“He began acting violently in the community and even attempted to attack his wife,” Commissioner Zweagar said.

Fearing for her safety, community members escorted Davis’s wife to the home of the Paramount Chief for protection. Later that evening, Davis reportedly went to the Chief’s residence and began banging aggressively on the door.

Brown, who was present at the scene, attempted to prevent Davis from damaging the door. During the encounter, Brown’s slipper came off, and as he bent down to fix it, Davis allegedly struck him on the back of the head with a piece of firewood.

Commissioner Zweagar noted that, based on community testimonies, there had been no prior conflict between Davis and Brown.

Police in Rivercess County have launched a full investigation into the incident. The suspect is expected to be formally charged and forwarded to court today.

Further details will be provided as the investigation continues.
