Rivercess County – Residents of Glassco Town in Zarflahn District, Rivercess County are in shock following the discovery of the lifeless body of 66-year-old Henry Zeegar Sr., who had been missing since Thursday, September 4, 2025.
According to Zarflahn District Commissioner Jerry Cole, Zeegar was last seen on Thursday afternoon after returning from his farm across the Draw River, where he had gone to collect a cooking pot.
The Commissioner told Verity News that Zeegar later handed his mobile phone to a relative, informing them that he was going to the graveyard. However, he never returned home, prompting immediate concern from family members and neighbors.
After two days of search efforts, tragedy struck when Zeegar’s body was discovered naked in the Draw River on Saturday afternoon with his clothes and slipper still remain in missing action.
Commissioner Cole, who confirmed the discovery, described the incident as “gruesome.”
A 15-man jury was immediately convened to examine the body. Their findings revealed severe injuries, including a broken neck, swollen eyes, and a damaged nose. The condition of the body raised strong suspicions of foul play.
The Liberia National Police (LNP) has since launched a full-scale investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding Zeegar’s mysterious disappearance and violent death. After the examination, the body was released to the family and has since been buried.
