The Liberian Senate has included on its agenda a formal communication from Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, requesting a plenary investigation into what he describes as a “malicious allegation” made against him by the Government of the Republic of Liberia.
Senator Snowe is seeking a full probe into accusations that he is allegedly leveraging his influence at the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to undermine the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
The controversy stems from a May 24, 2025, statement issued by the Government through the Ministry of Information.
The statement condemned what it termed “irresponsible and inflammatory” remarks allegedly made by Senator Snowe, who also serves as a member of the ECOWAS Parliament.
The Senate is, however, expected to decide whether or not to take up the communication submitted by one of its own members.”
