Aggrieved Youth of District #7 in Nimba Protest Against Rep. Musa Bility Over Failed Campaign Promises

A group of aggrieved young people under the banner “Concerned Youth of Saclepea” staged a peaceful protest on Tuesday, July 2, calling for accountability from Representative Musa H. Bility, who represents Nimba County District #7.

The protestors, holding placards and chanting slogans, accused Rep. Bility of abandoning the campaign promises he made during the 2023 general elections. The lawmaker, who won the seat in October 2023 general election, is under fire for what the youth describe as a “complete betrayal” of the district’s young population.

In separate remarks, the protestors criticized Bility for allegedly failing to deliver on key commitments, including the installation of streetlights, financial support for volunteer teachers, and scholarship opportunities for local students.

The group further alleged that the lawmaker received $30,000 in social development funds but has yet to provide any public accounting for how the money was used.

One protester stated, “We were promised streetlights and support for our teachers. None of that has happened. Instead, we are hearing that scholarships are being given to students in Margibi County.”

The move to support students in Margibi has fueled speculation among the youth that Rep. Bility may be eyeing a future senatorial bid in that county.

The “Concerned Youth of Saclepea” has called on the lawmaker to provide a detailed report on how public funds have been spent and to begin fulfilling the promises he made to the district.

As of press time, Rep. Bility had not responded publicly to the allegations or the protest.
