In a significant academic event, over 13,000 candidates are slated to take the University of Liberia (UL) 2025 Entrance and Placement Exams and Aptitude Tests beginning this Saturday, July 12, 2025, and continuing on Monday, July 14, through July 30, 2025.
The scheduled entrance exams and aptitude tests will be conducted exclusively in Montserrado County and at UL’s David A. Straz-Sinje Campus located in Sinje, Grand Cape Mount County. For undergraduate candidates, a paper-based exam is scheduled for July 12, while the Graduate and Professional School candidates will undertake a series of rolling computer-based aptitude tests from July 14 to July 30, 2025.
This exam serves as the primary admission route for aspiring students wishing to enroll at the University of Liberia. Successful candidates may join the new academic year, which is set to commence after August 24, 2025, as outlined in the revised academic calendar.
This year marks a pivotal moment for the UL under the leadership of Dr. Layli Maparyan, the university’s 16th president and its third woman leader. Since taking office, Dr. Maparyan has actively addressed persistent issues at the university, including the revision of the academic calendar for increased predictability regarding school openings. Additionally, she has reinstated vacation school sessions aimed at accelerating student completion rates.
Amidst these changes, Dr. Maparyan has also taken decisive administrative actions, such as the dismissal of eight employees and the suspension of one individual involved in an academic fraud scheme.
Public interest in this year’s exams is notably high, reflecting the university’s ongoing expansion of academic programs and its commitment to enhancing quality education and research for students and professionals alike.
The schedule for the rolling Computer-based Aptitude Tests for the Graduate and Professional Schools is as follows: Graduate School, July 14 – 17, 2025; School of Pharmacy, July 18, 2025; Medical School, July 18 – 22, 2025; and Law School, July 23 – 29, 2025. All remaining candidates combined for July 30, 2025.
The report further states that Candidates may take the digital tests multiple times; however, each attempt necessitates a separate payment and confirmation. Importantly, the University permits students currently completing Secondary School (12th graders) to participate in the Undergraduate Entrance Exam.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming tests, the University of Liberia continues to set the stage for a robust academic future guided by renewed leadership and innovative educational practices.
