Monrovia, Liberia — The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has announced an important development in enhancing access to public services: the official dedication of newly decentralized Passport Application Centers in Bong and Grand Gedeh Counties. The dedication ceremonies are set to take place early next week as part of the celebrations marking Liberia’s 178th Independence Anniversary.
This initiative marks a significant achievement under the leadership of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti. Her dedication to improving public service delivery and expanding government reach has been pivotal. The newly established centers aim to make passport services more accessible, particularly for citizens in remote areas who have previously faced challenges due to the centralization of these services in Monrovia.
The centralization of passport services created logistical and financial challenges for residents of remote counties, often requiring them to travel long distances to apply for passports. The introduction of centers in Bong and Grand Gedeh now allows residents to process their applications closer to home, saving time and reducing costs. This move is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of service delivery.
