LOYEE TOWN, NIMBA COUNTY— Details are emerging following a tragic motorcycle accident in Loyee Town, Nimba county which has claimed four lives.
Initial reports suggested that three people were involved but it has now been confirmed that four individuals were on the motorcycle at the time of the incident.
The group involved a rape suspect, a minor who is the alleged survivor, a witness and a police officer from the Tappita police department.
They were en route to the Saniquellie central prison.
According to unconfirmed eyewitness account, while crossing the bridge in Loyee Town, the handcuffed suspect allegedly attempted to escape.
This triggered the clash, causing the motorcycle to lose control and plunge into the river below; throwing all passengers into the water.
The Liberia National Police(LNP) and local health authorities responded to the scene.
All four individuals were confirmed dead and have since been transported to the Heaven Gate Funeral Home in Saclapea, Central Nimba County.
