The River Cess Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested a 32-year-old man, identified as Morris Doe, for alleged drug possession.
According to the LDEA, Doe was apprehended recently while traveling from Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, to Sinoe County. He was reportedly found carrying 20 pieces of the controlled substance, Tramadol, in a backpack.
Following his arrest, Doe was investigated and later charged. He was subsequently forwarded to the Yarpah Town Magisterial Court for prosecution.
However, court sources say Magistrate Zuku Debah Zuku allegedly released the suspect on a medical bill bond. The circumstances surrounding the bond and the suspect’s medical condition were not immediately disclosed.
The arrest and subsequent release have sparked discussions among some River Cess residents, who continue to express concern over the growing drug problem in the county.
