Man Arrested for Sodomy in Madata Town, Lofa County

Madata Town, Voinjama District, Lofa County ~ A sodomy incident was reported in Madata Town, Voinjama District, Lofa County, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old suspect identified as Massaboi Johnson.


According to the victim’s mother, Saybah Zumo, who lives with disabilities, the town was expecting visitors on Wednesday when Johnson allegedly sent 4-year-old Junior Kollie to purchase Garie. Johnson reportedly followed the child, took him into his house, and abused him before leaving.


When residents later found the boy, they questioned him, and he explained what had happened. The matter was immediately reported to the sessional chief, who ordered Johnson’s arrest before the arrival of police officers.


Police later transferred the suspect to Voinjama City for investigation, while the victim was admitted to Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital for treatment.


Confirming the case, Inspector Richard Armah Mulbah of the Women and Children Protection Section (WACPS) of the Lofa County Police Detachment said Johnson has been charged with sodomy under Section 14.70 of Liberia’s New Penal Law.


The victim’s mother has appealed to the Government of Liberia to ensure justice for her son and urged all parents to protect their children from similar acts
