Monrovia – The Secretary General of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Jefferson T. Koijee, has expressed strong concerns over what he described as the paradox in Liberia’s fight against drugs.
In a social media post on Thursday, Koijee alleged that some individuals involved in the illicit drug trade are disguising themselves in official uniforms while targeting vulnerable citizens.
“It is paradoxical that drug dealers, disguised in official uniforms, are the ones running after poor victims,” Koijee wrote.
His comments come amid growing public debate on the effectiveness of the national anti-drug campaign and concerns of corruption within law enforcement.
Koijee’s remarks are likely to spark further discussion on the integrity of security institutions and their role in combating the rising drug crisis across the country.
