Monrovia, September 1, 2025 President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has announced a fresh round of nominations and appointments affecting the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Governance Commission (GC).
According to a release from the Executive Mansion, the nominations where required are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
At the Ministry of Internal Affairs, President Boakai nominated:
• Madam Fatima Bintu Sirleaf as Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs
• Mr. Dedeh Harper as Assistant Minister for Administration
• Mr. Thomas Fallah as Commissioner of Waum Administrative District, Foya Statutory District, Lofa County
For the Governance Commission, the President appointed Mr. Jallah Kesselly as Executive Director.
President Boakai emphasized that the appointments are part of his administration’s drive to ensure “effective governance, accountability, and community-centered leadership.” He expressed confidence that the nominees will discharge their duties with integrity and commitment, strengthening public institutions and delivering “tangible results for the Liberian people.”
The President extended congratulations to the nominees and urged the Senate to act on the confirmations once it concludes its constituency break.
