Gbarpolu, Liberia — The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has announced a significant legal development as the 16th Judicial Circuit Court has returned a True Bill on all counts related to the “Yellow Machines” procurement case. This indictment involves several officials from Gbarpolu County and a private vendor accused of corruption and misuse of public resources in the procurement and management of heavy-duty equipment.
The court has issued writs of arrest for the following individuals:
1. Sam K. Zinnah, Superintendent of Gbarpolu County
2. Omaru Sheriff, Chief Executive Officer of City Lion (the vendor)
3. J. Keyah Saah, Former Superintendent of Gbarpolu County
4. Anthony Yorkor, Former Fiscal Superintendent
5. Robert Benda, Former Chairperson of the Gbarpolu Project Management Committee (PMC)
The charges are linked to alleged corruption and the improper handling of machinery intended for county development. This indictment results from a thorough investigation conducted by the LACC, which underscores the organization’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability within public service.
