The Sixth Judicial Circuit, Civil Law Court for Montserrado County, has issued a payment order against Senator Samuel G. Korgar, compelling him to satisfy a court judgment in the amount of US$65,025.02.
The case was brought against him by his estranged wife, Mrs. Ramatta Yoada Kogar, and stems from a prolonged civil dispute.
Presided over by His Honor Judge George W. Smith, the matter originated from a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari filed by Mrs. Kogar, who challenged earlier court rulings and sought judicial intervention.
The petition initially named Judge Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay and Representative Korgar as respondents.
Following an appeal and a comprehensive review of the case, the court ruled in favor of Mrs. Kogar.
A Bill of Costs was subsequently taxed and signed, resulting in a formal payment order directing Sen. Kogar, as the appellant and second respondent, to satisfy the court’s judgment.
The court’s order, dated July 25, 2025, mandates that the payment be made to Captain Humphrey P. Sequeh, Sheriff of the Civil Law Court, no later than August 4, 2025.
The judgment was officially recorded and sealed by Victor G. Gailor, Clerk of Court, and approved by Judge Smith.
Mrs. Kogar was represented by Counselors Ruth Jappah, G. Wiefueh Sayeh, and Dexter Tiah, while Senator Kogar was represented by Counselor Pearl Brown Bull.
The case has attracted considerable attention in both legal and political circles due to the involvement of a sitting lawmaker.
