The Koung-Kogar feud appears far from being over as Senator Samuel Kogar turns his back on efforts by some chiefs and elders of Nimba to mediate peace between him and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
The chiefs and elders had traveled from Nimba to Monrovia for a planned reconciliatory meeting, but Senator Kogar insisted that any such meeting should occur in Nimba county in line with traditional norms.
Kogar, who accused Koung of politically sidelining him, has however made it clear that at no point in time did he apologize to VP Koung as being speculated. His apology was to the chiefs and elders of Nimba according to him.
As this rigmarole prolongs, pundits say it is difficult to predict Kogar’s move, judging from his political history.
