Multiple audios and videos in possession of Verity News reveal that Moses K. Jaygbay, a surgical supervisor at the ELWA Hospital, died as a result of receiving the wrong medication
In one of the audios, hospital officials admitted that Jaygbay died from wrong medication even though the Management of the ELWA Hospital still remains tightlipped as of press time.
Hospital authorities disclosed that Jaygbay, described as an astute and dedicated medical practitioner, collapsed on Friday while on duty. Initial reports said he had developed a rash and skin irritation, for which he sought treatment.
According to an internal investigation and CCTV footage reviewed by the hospital, Jaygbay requested what he believed to be hydrochloric acid for relief. However, the vial he obtained contained Baccheronium, a powerful paralytic drug used strictly under anesthesia during surgical procedures.
Authorities explained that Baccheronium quickly immobilizes the body, paralyzing the muscles required for breathing, talking, and movement. When mistakenly administered outside the controlled environment of anesthesia, the drug can be fatal.
One of the videos showed Jaygbay lying on a hospital bed, uncontrollably jerking while under two drip bags for 1 minute 24 seconds before he could die. As Jaybay struggles for his life, no one could be visibly seen in the video to cater for him.
The management of the hospital and the family of the deceased surgical supervisor have been locked down in multiple meetings to reach a compromise as the hospital appealed to handle the matter outside of the public glare.
