Monrovia, Liberia – The National Chairman of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Atty. Janga A. Kowo, has officially announced the upcoming return of the party’s Political Leader and former President of Liberia, George Manneh Weah.
In a statement issued to party executives, members of the CDC Legislative Caucus, former government officials, stakeholders, and partisans, Chairman Kowo called for a major show of support at Roberts International Airport in Margibi on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
“All executives of the CDC Coalition, members of the CDC Legislative Caucus, former CDC government officials, party stakeholders and stalwarts, and our distinguished partisans of the Blue Revolution are kindly requested to be at the Roberts International Airport at 2:00 PM to give our Political Leader a rousing welcome,” Kowo stated.
He added, “Thanks very much and long live the Blue Revolution! Amandla, Amanda.”
Ex-Pres. Weah’s return from the United States of America is expected to mark a significant moment for the party as it regroups and strategizes amid ongoing national political developments.
The CDC, once Liberia’s ruling party, has maintained an active presence in the country’s political space since its transition to opposition status. Observers say Weah’s return could energize the party’s base ahead of key political activities on the national calendar.
