Fire Guts NSA Director’s Home in Paynesville; No Casualties Reported

An early morning fire on Sunday destroyed the Paynesville residence of National Security Agency (NSA) Director Prince C. Johnson, officials have confirmed.

According to the Liberia National Fire Service, the blaze began around 3 a.m. at the three-bedroom home in the Soul Clinic Guinea Community.

“Our team received the call at 3:05 a.m., and units from Stations 4 and 5 were dispatched immediately,” said Fire Service spokesperson Lt. Daniel G. Kolleh.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within 15 minutes and battled the flames for over three hours.

“The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished by 6:23 a.m.,” Lt. Kolleh added.

No injuries or fatalities were reported. “All occupants were safely evacuated before the fire fully spread,” said a family member who asked not to be named.

This is firsthand information from the scene,” the Fire Service said in a brief post-incident report. Crews cleared the area shortly after 6:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Authorities say initial findings will be made public once the fire marshal’s report is complete.
