Congo Town, Monrovia – The atmosphere was electrifying on Saturday when hundreds of partisans, supporters, and well-wishers gathered in Congo Town as the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) officially broke ground for the construction of its new party headquarters.
The event drew prominent political figures, including Grand Gedeh County Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely, Grand Cape Mount County Senator Simeon Taylor, Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah’s, former Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Moses Gray among others.
Former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor also graced the occasion alongside several members of the CDC legislative caucus.
Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah’s arrival caused a stir as the crowd erupted in cheers, signaling a rare show of political unity at the landmark event.
Speaking at the ceremony, former President George Manneh Weah expressed gratitude to God, the party’s executive committee, and loyal supporters for their continued commitment to the CDC’s vision. He praised the party’s leadership for their hard work in reaching this milestone, describing the project as a fulfillment of his promise to the CDC family.
“To God Almighty be the glory for the great things He has done and the greater things He will do for us,” Weah said. “The CDC is not in the walls of the structure. The CDC lives in our hearts and minds. You can break the bricks; you can break the walls; but we remain standing, steadfast in our love and commitment to the ideals of our dear institution.”
