Tubman University Prepares to Celebrate 12th Commencement Convocation

Maryland County – William Tubman V.S University – TU, one of Liberia’s most reputable centers of higher learning, has officially announced the schedule for its 12th Commencement Convocation, marking another milestone in the institution’s mission to advance education, research, and leadership development in the southeastern region and beyond.

The announcement, released through the Office of the President, confirms that this year’s ceremonies will be held under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tubman University.

Dr. Menjay’s administration has been credited with promoting academic excellence, institutional expansion, and stronger community engagement since assuming office.

The week-long graduation activities will climax with two major events on the university’s main campus in east Harper, Maryland County.

According to a released, a Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 10:00AM while the graduation ceremony will Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:00AM to be taking place at the Tubman University main Campus in Harper, Maryland County.

The Baccalaureate Service, a solemn and spiritual gathering, will serve as an opportunity for graduates, faculty, and administrators to offer prayers of gratitude and reflection for the years of academic pursuit. It will also set the tone for the much-anticipated commencement ceremony the following day.

During the main graduation ceremony, degrees and honors will be conferred upon graduates across multiple disciplines, including Education, Health Sciences, Agriculture, Management, and Engineering.

The event is expected to draw participation from government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, university alumni, parents, and invited guests from across Liberia and the diaspora.

In a statement ahead of the program, Dr. Menjay praised the Class of 2025 as a determined and resilient generation who overcame significant challenges including post-pandemic learning transitions and resource limitations  to successfully complete their studies.

“The 2025 class represents the spirit of endurance, innovation, and service that Tubman University stands for,” Dr. Menjay said. “Their success is a reflection of the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, and partners who remain committed to empowering young Liberians to become agents of positive change.”

Meanwhile, Board of Trustees also extended commendations to the graduating class, reaffirming the university’s dedication to fostering a learning environment that aligns with Liberia’s national development agenda.

As Tubman University prepares to celebrate its 12th graduation, the institution continues to strengthen its academic programs, expand partnerships, and uphold its motto of “Empowering Minds for a Better Liberia.”
