Julius Jeh and Martin K. N. Kollie Reconcile After Years of Misunderstanding

Monrovia — Prominent Liberian journalist Julius Jeh and Liberian exiled activist Martin K. N. Kollie have publicly announced their reconciliation, putting an end to years of misunderstanding that once strained their once-close friendship.

In a Facebook post, Julius Jeh revealed that on his birthday, Kollie reached out to him with a heartfelt message of peace and goodwill.

Kollie wrote:
“Happy birthday, comrade JJ, wishing you more blessings and abundant life. Please enjoy. There’s been some rough edges due to disagreements. But I still see you as a great and brilliant brother. Reaching out to find a common ground and for us to pass our past. All the best.”

Jeh responded warmly, noting that he had long moved past their differences.
“Thanks so kindly. No worries. I harbor nothing against you. There were clear misconceptions, but I understand it comes with the terrain,” he replied.

Jeh explained that even before Kollie’s message, he had already let go of their previous disputes since 2023. He had been sharing stories from Kollie’s Verity Online News, while Kollie had, in turn, shared Jeh’s interview with former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

“While I believe we were both internally done with what transpired back then, we had not got to the talking stage,” Jeh wrote. “I intended doing so on his graduation and then his birthday, but I hesitated, not knowing what his reaction would be. Therefore, I applaud his courage to reach out, and we’re good like the UL student leadership and activism days when they were our regular guests at FARBRIC Radio.”

Jeh further revealed that he has invited Kollie to appear on his popular talk show, OK Conversation, tentatively scheduled for November 25, 2025.

He also used the occasion to call on supporters of both men to move past old divisions.

“If you had issues with me because of Martin, it’s time to leave it. Likewise, if you had issues with him because of me, leave it,” Jeh urged.

In response to Jeh’s post, Martin K. N. Kollie commented, expressing his joy at their renewed friendship and emphasizing the importance of unity.

“With humility, I am glad that we could bury the hatchet, comrade Julius Jeh. You are a great man with so much to offer our country. I duly acknowledge the height of your substance. To reconcile is to rebuild, and to rebuild is to reunite as compatriots. This is how I see it.”

He continued, “Amid my flaws and limitations, that’s why I had to take the first step to reach out for us to smoothen the rough edges. Thank you once more, brother, for embracing the olive branch. This is what sets you apart. Blessings and much love to you and your family as you sacrifice to serve, inform, and educate our people.”

The public reconciliation between Jeh and Kollie has drawn positive reactions from followers and colleagues across social media, many of whom hailed the move as a demonstration of maturity and patriotism in Liberia’s often divided public discourse.
