Inspector Generals Brief President Bio on Proposed MRU Police Chiefs Committee

Inspector General of Liberia Gregory O. W. Coleman and his Sierra Leonean counterpart, Inspector General Williams Fayiah Seilu, have met with President Julius Maada Bio to propose the establishment of a Mano River Union (MRU) Chiefs of Police Committee an initiative the President has formally endorsed.

The high-level meeting focused on strengthening regional cooperation in law enforcement, improving information sharing, and fostering coordinated security operations among MRU member states. According to officials, the proposed committee would serve as a structured mechanism for police chiefs across the sub-region to collaborate more effectively on cross-border threats and emerging security challenges.

President Bio welcomed the proposal, expressing strong support for a unified MRU policing framework that enhances collective security. He underscored his government’s commitment to deepening ties within the sub-region and promoting joint efforts to maintain peace and stability.

The Liberia National Police (LNP) noted that the initiative marks a significant step toward reinforcing security partnerships among MRU countries.
