Former Assistant Minister Karisma Pelham-Raad has formally announced her membership in the ruling Unity Party, ending weeks of speculation following her recent resignation from government.
“It’s officially, official now… I’m now officially a member of the great Unity Party. LONG LIVE… LONG LIVE THE GREEN REVOLUTION Unity Party. DONE & DUSTED,” Pelham-Raad declared in a public statement on Saturday.
Pelham-Raad resigned her post earlier September in what political observers have described as a sign of internal wrangling within the ministry she served. Although no official explanation was given for her departure, analysts say her move to the Unity Party may have been influenced by ongoing disagreements within the government.
Her decision to leave her government position and join the ruling party has been met with praise from both party members and senior officials. According to insiders, Unity Party executives view Pelham-Raad’s arrival as a boost to the party’s growing influence and a reinforcement of its “Green Revolution” agenda pending for the 6th of December 2025.
Party supporters have also welcomed her membership, describing it as a “timely and strategic addition” as the Unity Party seeks to consolidate its base ahead of upcoming political activities.
