Harbel Multilateral Celebrates 40th Graduation; 125 Students Receive Diplomas

Margibi County — The Harbel Multilateral High School on Sunday, November 30, 2025, held its 40th Commencement Convocation in a colorful ceremony that drew thousands of parents, educational stakeholders, lawmakers, alumni, and well-wishers. The event, held at the Harbel Multilateral Auditorium, was filled with jubilation as the institution ~ popularly known as the Lion’s Kingdom~ honored the academic achievements of its 125 graduates.

The graduating students were recognized for their successful completion of both the school’s academic requirements and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). According to the administration, a total of 203 students sat for the national exams, of which 125 passed. However, eight students failed the school’s internal assessments and were therefore not cleared to graduate.

Presenting the school’s progress report, Principal David Borbor Farkollie commended the students for their perseverance and highlighted the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence. He noted that the impressive WASSCE performance reflects the dedication of both students and faculty.

“Our graduates have worked hard and demonstrated the discipline required to succeed at the national level,” Principal Farkollie said. “We remain committed to ensuring that Harbel Multilateral continues to set a high academic standard in Margibi County and Liberia at large.”

Delivering the convocation oration, Senator Emmanuel Nuquay challenged the graduates to remain focused on their aspirations and to pursue their dreams with determination. He emphasized that completing high school should not be viewed as the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new chapter.

“Your journey does not end here,” Senator Nuquay told the students. “Use this achievement as a stepping stone. Dream big, work harder, and continue your education. The future belongs to those who push beyond their limitations.”

Also speaking at the ceremony, the District Education Officer (DEO) of the Farmington Education District, Joe Flomo, encouraged parents to invest in their children’s continuing education. He stressed that parental support remains crucial to the success of young people.

“Our children are our future,” Flomo said. “Parents, let us continue to support their educational journey. This is not the end for them. Please encourage your children to pursue higher education.”

The convocation concluded with cheers, celebratory songs, and presentations, marking yet another milestone in the school’s longstanding legacy of shaping future leaders in Liberia.
