Political commentator Abdullah Kiatamba has sharply criticized the recent wave of lawmakers defecting to the Unity Party (UP), describing them as “monotonous chillers” driven by personal convenience rather than genuine political conviction.
Speaking Monday on OK Morning Conversations, Kiatamba argued that the defectors are not joining the ruling party because they believe in its policies or national agenda, but rather out of what he termed “political monotony” and self-interest.
According to him, the trend reflects a troubling pattern in Liberian politics, where elected officials switch allegiance for comfort and political survival instead of principle.
