A delegation from the Kuwaiti Fund met with Finance and Development Planning Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Monrovia reaffirming the Fund’s commitment to financing the Gbarnga–Mendikorma Highway, particularly the Salayea–Konia corridor.
The delegation, led by Nawaf Fares Al-Dabbous, Senior Engineer Adviser at the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, said the mission was in Liberia to finalize technical discussions on the project.
The Kuwaiti Fund is one of the major Arab lenders supporting the highway, a key regional road link.
Minister Ngafuan, speaking on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, thanked the Fund for its longstanding partnership and support.
“Your presence assures us that the road from Salayea to Konia will be done,” he said, adding that the government remains committed to meeting all obligations under the project.
