Gbarnga, Bong County – The Bong County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), in collaboration with the Liberia National Police (LNP), has intercepted a 12-tyre truck traveling from Guinea to Monrovia for a suspicious inspection.

According to Bong County LDEA Commander Thomas Saye, the truck was intercepted and parked on Thursday, January 8, 2026, after officers observed that it was heavily overloaded with large quantities of cow skin and several big bags commonly referred to as “Balawala.”

During a thorough inspection, security officers discovered several cartons of “Sir Cigarette” concealed inside the bags and strategically placed among the cow skin. The contents raised suspicion, prompting immediate seizure by the authorities.

As of the time of publication, the seized suspected cigarettes have been taken into custody by security agencies for further investigation and verification.
