Farmington Education District Officer Commends Activist Kollie for 75 Scholarships to Margibi Students

The Farmington Education District Officer, Mr. Joe Flomo, has applauded Liberian exiled activist Martin K. N. Kollie for providing 75 scholarships to students from Margibi County through his foundation.

Speaking on Friday, January 9, 2026, Mr. Flomo expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Margibi, describing the scholarship initiative as timely and impactful. “Thanks, Mr. Kollie, for the scholarship to our people in Margibi,” he said.

The scholarships were awarded through the Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation and include both Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and university-level opportunities. The total value of the scholarship package is estimated at over L$600,000 and US$285.

According to information released, the beneficiaries were selected from both Upper and Lower Margibi through an online application.

Students will pursue studies at Margibi University and other accredited TVET institutions across the county.

Education stakeholders in the area say the initiative will help ease the financial burden on families while increasing access to higher and technical education for young people.

The Martin K. N. Kollie Foundation has been involved in several educational and social support programs aimed at empowering Liberian youths, particularly those from underserved communities.
