Monrovia-The Management Team of the World Foundation International Multi-Purpose Agriculture Cooperative Incorporated (WFI-MAC) Rescue Farmers Group has held a high-level meeting with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., marking a major step toward the launch of a nationwide agricultural transformation program aimed at revitalizing Liberia’s farming sector.
The landmark engagement, held at the President’s Rehab Community Residence, brought together WFI-MAC executives and county coordinators from all 15 counties, with discussions centered on the organization’s flagship “Feed the Nation” initiative and its broader five-year agricultural development agenda.
Speaking after the meeting, WFI-MAC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lincoln Z. Cooper, disclosed that President Boakai reaffirmed his administration’s strong support for agriculture as a cornerstone of national development.
“On January 10, a meeting was held with His Excellency President Joseph N. Boakai and the 15 county coordinators, focusing on the Feed the Nation program,” Mr. Cooper said.
“The President reaffirmed his support for WFI-MAC and instructed the Minister of State to ensure WFI-MAC is included in the upcoming national county tour scheduled for March.”
President Boakai to Serve as Chief Launcher
The WFI-MAC Executive Board, under the leadership of Board Chairman Dr. John T. Wulu and Vice Chair Dr. Manon Gurley, has fully endorsed the Management Team’s engagement with the President and confirmed its collective support for the upcoming official launch of WFI-MAC.
The organization’s formal launch is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2026, at 12:00 noon, at the Monrovia City Hall, with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. expected to serve as Chief Launcher, a development seen as a powerful endorsement of the initiative at the highest level of government.
Supporting the Launch and Farmers’ Outreach
As part of preparations for the February 6 launch of the Feed the Nation program, WFI-MAC has appealed to its Board for support in key logistical and operational areas, including support to make the launch grand.
Material for the launch according to Mr. Cooper, are intended to support farmer mobilization, data collection, and public awareness as the program rolls out nationwide.
Transforming Agriculture, Empowering Communities
The WFI-MAC agricultural project, themed “Operation Feed the Nation,” is designed to align with President Boakai’s vision of food security, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
The initiative targets the empowerment of 52,500 farmers nationwide
Job creation for youths and women, establishment of agro-processing hubs in all 15 counties, support for vulnerable and smallholder farmers, and expansion of agriculture-based industries.
President Boakai commended the WFI-MAC leadership for its bold vision and grassroots focus, assuring the delegation of his government’s readiness to collaborate in transforming Liberia’s agricultural landscape.
Mr. Cooper, in turn, praised the President’s commitment to agriculture, noting that WFI-MAC remains fully aligned with the national agenda to feed Liberia and create sustainable livelihoods.
With presidential backing, nationwide coordination, and a development blueprint, WFI-MAC’s engagement with President Boakai is being viewed as a boost to Liberia’s drive toward agricultural self-sufficiency and economic renewal.
