Unification Town YMCA Community High School on Friday, January 9, 2026, held its Honoree Program to recognize students who excelled during the second marking period.
The program, which is part of the school’s long-standing tradition, aims to reward academic excellence and motivate students by recognizing their achievements while they can fully appreciate the honor.
The ceremony also featured student performances, with pupils showcasing talents in singing, dancing, comedy, and recitation of educational quotations, adding excitement to the program.
Speaking at the event, the school’s Principal, E. Melvin Jallah said more than 200 students were honored across various categories, including the Principal’s List, High Honors, and Honor Roll.
Award recipients ranged from Nursery through Grade 11.
In the Lower Elementary division, Grade 1 student Cartena M. Barkolkeh received the Highest Honor award and a medal. At the high school level, Grade 8 student Rodney S. B. Gonquou earned the Highest Honor, while fellow Grade 8 student Helena F. K. Jah was named runner-up.
Parents and guardians praised the school’s administration and teachers for nurturing students’ academic growth and encouraging healthy competition in learning.
