Office of Liberia’s First Lady Dismisses Claims Linking Her to Foreign Investment Firm

The Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia has strongly refuted allegations circulating on social media and private messaging platforms that falsely link Her Excellency, Madam Kartumu Yarta Boakai, to a foreign investment company.

In an official statement issued through its Department of Media and Communications, the Office described the claims as “false, misleading, and scandalous,” stressing that the First Lady has never been involved with, invested in, or held shares in any company known as “Fidelity Investment” or any related entity allegedly connected to FMR LLC in Boston, United States.

The statement categorically rejected assertions that the First Lady holds a shareholding certificate or any financial interest in the company, noting that such claims are “entirely fabricated and should be treated as such.”

According to the Office, the misinformation originated within informal forums, including a Lott Carey Alumni chat room, and has been amplified by individuals posing as informants or affiliates of the Office of the First Lady. The statement condemned these actions as unethical and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

“The reckless dissemination of falsehoods by unscrupulous individuals and scammers is condemnable in the strongest possible terms,” the Office said, warning that such conduct undermines public trust and spreads unnecessary confusion.

The Office of the First Lady urged members of the public to exercise caution, avoid sharing unverified information, and rely solely on official sources for accurate updates. It emphasized that verified statements and activities of the First Lady are disseminated through the Media and Communications Section at the Executive Mansion and the official Facebook page, First Lady of the Republic of Liberia.

The statement further noted that the Office reserves the right to pursue appropriate action against individuals or entities found to be deliberately spreading false and defamatory information.

The Office reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and called on the public to remain vigilant against misinformation circulating outside official communication channels.
