Suspected Killer of Six-Month-Old Infant in Margibi Found in Nimba County

Lower Margibi County — Police in Margibi County in collaboration with police in Nimba have found the suspected ki!!er of a six-month-old infant whose lifeless body was discovered after days of intense search efforts.

The victim, identified as Beatrice Langar, was reported missing earlier last week. According to the child’s mother, the baby was last seen in the custody of her father, Lester Langer, who had requested to hold the child. The mother alleged that shortly afterward, Langer fled with the infant and could not be located.

Following the report, security forces and community members launched a search across parts of Lower Margibi County. The search ended tragically in the early evening hours of January 24, 2026, when the baby’s body was discovered in an empty room in Barclay Farm, Lower Margibi County.

Law enforcement officials said the body showed signs of severe abuse, including the removal of both eyes. The discovery shocked residents of the area and has drawn widespread condemnation.

Police confirmed that a full investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Meanwhile, authorities said police in Margibi, working in collaboration with other security officers, later located Lester Langer living body. He has since been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Kakata Police Headquarters for questioning as the investigation continues.

Police have assured the public that justice will be pursued and urged citizens to remain calm while the investigation is ongoing.
