Residents of Zeewien Clan in Wee Statutory District have concluded thier first meeting aimed at demending the management of the Liberian Agricultural Company (LAC) to honor the commitments outlined in a signed agreement from 2007.
The document, signed by the former General Manager of LAC, promised essential community development projects including a clinic, school, compensation for damaged crop, job opportunities for affected citizens, electricity, and clean drinking water.
Despite these promises, residents of the seven demolished towns are disappointed that none of the benefits have been materialized. The residents who spoke to Verity Online News after the meeting in Ceezohn, emphasized that they are yet to receive any of the provisions outlined in the agreement, despite their engagement with the company over the years.
The residents are now calling on LAC management to revisit the agreement they willingly signed by them, warning that they may resort to protest actions if their demands are not met promptly.
Meanwhile efforts by reporters to obtain a response from the LAC Management regarding these allegations have been met with silence, leaving residents frustrated and determined to seek justice for their community.
