By Patrick Teah Jr,

Stakeholders from across Grand Kru County have reaffirmed their commitment to climate resilience following a day-long validation meeting on the county’s Local Climate Action Plans held in Barclayville.

The gathering, organized by the Grand Kru County Environmental Committee, brought together officials from government institutions, civil society organizations, policymakers, and representatives from the Office of the Superintendent, all focused on shaping a sustainable environmental future for the county.

Lead facilitator Isaac Kannah described the meeting as a critical step toward developing inclusive and locally driven climate solutions.

He noted that the validation process enabled participants to thoroughly review the draft action plans and ensure they accurately reflect the county’s environmental challenges.

According to Mr. Kannah, stakeholders engaged in in-depth discussions on climate risks, vulnerabilities, and practical strategies for mitigation and adaptation aimed at helping communities better withstand the impacts of climate change.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among local authorities, technical experts, and development partners, stressing that collective effort is essential to translating the plans into tangible results.

At the close of the session, participants welcomed the initiative and pledged their support for climate action programs designed to strengthen environmental sustainability and community resilience across Grand Kru County.
