Young Life Hosts Inspiring Youth Sports and Faith Camp in Barclayville

By Patrick Teah Jr.

BARCLAYVILLE, Grand Kru County — The Grand Kru Chapter of Young Life on Saturday hosted a vibrant daylong youth sports and faith camp at the Barclayville City Hall, drawing more than 300 young people from schools across the city.

The program, held on Friday, February 7, 2026, featured a variety of sporting activities aimed at promoting teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among youths aged 14 and above. Activities included sack racing, egg racing, middle-distance races, running competitions, and other recreational games.

Organizers said students from more than eight schools took part in the event, making it one of the largest youth gatherings organized by Young Life in the county in recent years.

Participants described the camp as both entertaining and educational, noting that it provided a safe and engaging space for young people to interact, build friendships, and remain focused on positive life goals.

In addition to sports, the camp featured Bible-based teaching sessions focused on moral responsibility. Discussions centered on the concept of sin and obedience to God, supported by relevant biblical references.

Young Life officials reaffirmed that the organization is an international Christian youth outreach ministry founded in 1941, dedicated to nurturing young people through mentorship, faith development, and community engagement.
