The Ministry of Health has extended healthcare services in Grand Kru County with the construction of two modern clinics in Juduken and Gbanken, aimed at improving access to essential medical care in remote communities.
The newly completed health facilities are expected to serve a combined catchment population of 15,425 residents from Juduken, Gbanken, and surrounding villages, where access to medical care has historically been limited due to distance and inadequate infrastructure.
Health authorities say the clinics will offer basic outpatient services, maternal and child healthcare, routine immunization, and emergency first aid.
The facilities are expected to significantly reduce the long distances residents previously traveled to receive medical treatment.
The development forms part of the Ministry of Health’s broader national strategy to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and decentralize medical services, with particular emphasis on underserved areas in Liberia’s southeastern region.
Officials noted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving health outcomes and ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all citizens, regardless of their geographic location.
