Following an investigation and a formal appeal by Verity News to Rep. Ernest Manseah of District #4, Nimba County, the 55th Legislature of the House of Representatives of Liberia has officially placed on its agenda the case involving a 15-year-old boy who was allegedly sodomized by a former agent of the National Security Agency of Liberia and two other suspects.
The decision comes after a formal communication submitted to plenary by Hon. Ernest M. Manseah, Representative of Electoral District #4, Nimba County. In his communication, Rep. Manseah requested the appearance of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection to provide a comprehensive status report on the troubling case that has sparked widespread public outrage.
The lawmaker emphasized the gravity of the allegations and the growing concern from citizens over the handling of the matter, particularly amid reports of delays and alleged irregularities surrounding the suspects.
According to the communication, the ministers are expected to inform plenary about the current legal standing of the case, the protection and medical support being provided to the minor, and the actions taken against the accused including the former NSA operative.
The case has dominated public discourse in recent weeks, with calls from civil society groups, community leaders, and media institutions demanding transparency and swift justice.
