River Cess County – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested two men for allegedly transporting illegal drugs and ammunition through River Cess County.
The arrests took place on February 17, 2026, around 6:00 p.m. at the Boegeezay Checkpoint in Monweh District. LDEA officers intercepted the suspects while they were traveling from Nimba County to River Cess County.
The suspects have been identified as Teah Toe, 54, and Anthony Kollie, 45, both Liberian nationals. During a search, authorities reportedly seized 40 kilograms of marijuana, with an estimated street value of approximately US$4,000 (L$760,000). In addition, 72 single-barrel rounds of ammunition were recovered.
Security sources highlighted that the Boegeezay route and surrounding corridors have long been exploited by traffickers to move illegal drugs and other contraband from various counties through River Cess to southeastern Liberia and other parts of the country.
Both men are currently under investigation at the LDEA office in River Cess County and are expected to face formal charges once the probe is complete.
