ZOWEINTA, BONG, LIBERIA – Residents of Zoweinta Electoral District One are celebrating a historic milestone following the successful electrification of the area, a development welcomed by the management of Menina Resort.
In a statement released Tuesday, the resort’s management, through its Executive Director William Kotee Jr., expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Liberia for extending electricity to the district, describing the move as a major step toward growth and modernization.
The management noted that the availability of electricity will significantly boost local businesses, strengthen security, enhance the learning environment for students, and open new opportunities for economic expansion across the district.
Menina Resort, one of the leading hospitality establishments in the area, said stable power supply will greatly improve its operations, enhance service delivery, and provide increased comfort and convenience for guests visiting Zoweinta.
The electrification was officially realized on Tuesday evening, February 24, 2026, when residents witnessed the lights come on in what many described as a historic and emotional moment for the community.
Speaking on behalf of the resort, Chief Executive Officer William F. Kotee Jr. reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote community development and national progress.
Community members have also welcomed the development, expressing optimism that electricity will accelerate transformation in Zoweinta and throughout Electoral District One.
The electrification project forms part of ongoing national efforts aimed at expanding access to reliable power across rural Liberia.
