Monrovia, Liberia — Liberian economist Samuel Jackson has been declared a person of interest in the death of his South African wife, Toni Jackson, after police reported finding injuries on her body.
Speaking to reporters, Police Spokesman Sam Collins said authorities observed “a very deep laceration on the head of the deceased” and additional bruises on her body. He added that Jackson reportedly mentioned blood at the scene.
“Mr. Jackson is a person of interest. This is an alleged homicide investigation,” Collins said. “The police will remain deployed at his home.”
The incident has heightened public concern, as law enforcement continues to secure the residence while investigators gather evidence. Authorities have not yet released the official cause of death.
Toni Jackson passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. Police are urging the public to allow the investigation to proceed and have assured that all findings will be handled according to Liberian law.
