Government increases gas price by US$0.85 and fuel price by US$0.90

The Liberia Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in consultation with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), has announced an increase in the ceiling prices for petroleum products on the Liberian market effective March 14, 2026.

According to the ministry, the wholesale and retail prices for gasoline (PMS) and fuel oil (AGO) have been adjusted upward due to market considerations.

Gasoline (PMS) increased by US$0.85

Wholesale price: US$4.59 per gallon

Retail pump price: US$4.87 per gallon (L$910.00)

Fuel Oil (AGO) increased by US$0.90

Wholesale price: US$5.50 per gallon

Retail pump price: US$5.78 per gallon (L$1,080.00)

The price circular references the February 13, 2026 exchange rate from the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) of L$187 to US$1.

The Ministry stated that its Inspectorate Team will monitor fuel stations and importers to ensure compliance with the approved ceiling prices and prevent arbitrary price increases, hoarding, or unfair competition in the market.

The announcement was issued by Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Amos Bweh, Managing Director of Liberia Petroleum Refining Company.
