The directive was issued after the President held a high-level meeting on Monday with heads of the country’s security agencies, the Minister for the Interior, and the Acting Minister for Defence to review the ongoing recruitment process.

Following a briefing during the meeting, President Mahama instructed that the recruitment intake across the various security agencies be doubled in order to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.

Also present were the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Prisons Service, the Director-General of the Ghana National Fire Service, the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, and the Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission.
