Armed soldiers believed to be from Guinea reportedly crossed into Liberian territory early Tuesday, causing panic and displacement in parts of Foya, Lofa County.
Local sources say the soldiers instructed residents in border communities to leave the area, prompting many Liberians to flee their homes in search of safety.
Meanwhile, security personnel from the Armed Forces of Liberia have reportedly been directed to push back against the incursion.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement as the situation remains tense and developing.
