Photos and a video obtained by Verity News showed severe burns between the legs of an 11-year-old child who was allegedly maltreated by her stepmother in Kokoyah District, Bong County, Central Liberia, as public outrage intensifies.
According to eyewitness, the Stepmother claimed that the child misbehaved. As a result, she reportedly boiled a percolator of hot water and wasted it between the legs of the child, which severely burned her private part.
The victim is currently receiving medical attention, and authorities in Bong County are expected to launch a full investigation into the incident.
Residents expressed shock and anger at the brutality of the act, calling for immediate legal action against the suspect. “This is unthinkable. No child deserves to be treated this way,” said one community member who witnessed the aftermath.
Public outrage has grown in the wake of the incident, prompting child rights advocates to stress the importance of child safety and legal accountability.
