Liberia is advancing its youth development agenda through high-level discussions with the Real Madrid Foundation, following a meeting in Madrid between Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, and the Foundation’s Managing Director, Julio Gonzalez Ronco.
The engagement, facilitated by Liberia’s Ambassador to France, His Excellency Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay Sr., and Mr. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Jr., underscored Liberia’s commitment to leveraging sports diplomacy to create opportunities for young people.
Held at the Real Madrid Foundation headquarters, the discussions focused on sports-based education, youth empowerment, and community development. While still in the exploratory phase, both parties expressed strong enthusiasm for developing a structured framework for long-term collaboration.
Minister Kruah emphasized the government’s dedication to using sport as a catalyst for social change and highlighted the value of partnerships that combine international expertise with Liberia’s local priorities. The Real Madrid Foundation welcomed the initiative, signaling its openness to deeper engagement with Liberia.
The Liberian Embassy near Paris will continue to facilitate consultations with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Boakai, and other stakeholders to transform this engagement into a sustainable program that benefits Liberia’s youth.
