The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has warned that scheduled maintenance on regional transmission networks, along with technical issues at neighboring generation facilities, may lead to temporary power interruptions in Monrovia and surrounding areas.
According to LEC, TRANSCO-CLSG will conduct maintenance on its 225kV transmission lines from March 26 to March 28, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily.
In addition, EDG has reported technical issues affecting generation, which will temporarily reduce power supply to Liberia until resolved.
LEC emphasized that these disruptions are necessary to support critical upgrades and ensure the long-term reliability and stability of the regional electricity network. “To reduce the impact of these disruptions, LEC will utilize its thermal and hydro generation capacity to provide partial electricity supply,” the utility said.
Customers are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the maintenance period.
LEC reassured the public that it is working closely with its regional partners to minimize the impact and restore normal service as quickly as possible.
For further inquiries, the public may contact the Media, Communications, and Public Affairs Division of LEC.
