Monrovia, Liberia — The French Embassy in Liberia has dismissed a media report claiming that a phone call took place between Emmanuel Macron and Joseph N. Boakai regarding the Guinea–Liberia border situation.
In a press release issued Monday, the embassy clarified that Ambassador Isabelle Le Guellec did not confirm any such communication, contrary to a March 25 publication by FrontPage Africa.
“The Embassy of France in Liberia informs that, contrary to the claims… Ambassador Isabelle Le Guellec did not confirm the existence of a call,” the statement said.
The report had suggested that discussions between the two leaders addressed ongoing border concerns between Guinea and Liberia. However, French officials have firmly rejected the claim, emphasizing that no such confirmation was made by the ambassador.
The embassy’s clarification aims to correct the public record amid heightened attention to regional diplomatic developments.
