The House of Representatives has finally placed a “Request to Expel Rep. Yekeh Kolubah” on its Agenda for the 8th Sitting of the Leadership of the First Quarter of the Third Session.
The request to expel the lawmaker is at Item #5(B) of the Agenda, specifically under Business on Speaker’s Desk, dated March 30, 2026.
What does the Law say about explusion?
Arrticle 38 of the Constitition says, “Each House shall adopt its own rules of procedure, enforce order and with the concurrence of two-thirds of the entire membership, may expel a member for cause.”
Article 37 also says, “In the event of a vacancy in the Legislature caused by death, resignation, expulsion or otherwise, the presiding officer shall within 30 days notify the Elections Commission thereof.”
