In December 2024, the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) hosted a high-level delegation from Turkish Airlines for discussions on the possibilities for the airlines to commence scheduled flights to Monrovia, Liberia. The Turkish team was warmly received by LCAA Director-General Julius D. Dennis, Jr. and LCAA Deputy Director-General for Administration Stephen R. Johnson.

After more than 14 months of productive engagements and technical workings between the two parties, Turkish Airlines has finally announced that its first flight from Turkey to Liberia will commence on Monday, May 11, 2026. According to a circular posted on its website, a round trip ticket for Economy class from Monrovia to Instanbul would cost US$1,346.

According to the Airlines, passengers can “experience privilege and comfort” on the new route. The airlines said this expansion reflects their ongoing efforts to connect more international destinations and provide seamless travel experiences worldwide.
