The Ministry of Youth and Sports has publicly distanced itself from a group led by Duku Jallah, stating that it does not recognize the leadership as legitimate.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, April 1, 2026, the Ministry described the group as “a faction purporting to represent the leadership of the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY)” and cautioned stakeholders against engaging with it.
The Ministry called on development partners, institutions, and other youth-focused organizations to immediately cease any form of collaboration or business dealings with the group, emphasizing the need to uphold transparency and legitimacy within youth representation structures.
According to the statement, the government remains committed to working with duly recognized and accredited leadership within the youth sector to ensure coordinated development efforts and accountability.
The situation highlights growing concerns over leadership disputes within youth organizations in Liberia, with authorities seeking to maintain order and credibility in the sector.
